“Create a freehand drawing to explain to a high school senior how the motions of large and small particles suspended in a fluid are affected by an increase in temperature of the fluid.”
This assignment was given to Harvard A50 students some weeks after they completed the “Particle in a Box” assignment. It generated close to 140 student drawings. The following examples highlight the different ways in which students chose to visually explain the scientific concepts.
