"Create a freehand drawing to explain to a high school senior the problem of a particle in a box and the quantum mechanical solutions to this problem. In your drawing, strive for clarity in visually representing the quantum behavior of the particle in a box that contrasts sharply with predictions of classical mechanics."

This assignment generated close to 130 student drawings. The above examples highlight the different ways in which students chose to visually explain the scientific concepts.
